This is a role for a creative, detail-obsessed, empathetic, strategic art director with strong conceptual and design skills with an interest using your talents to make the world a better place. Candidates must have the ability to strategize, conceptualize, design, and direct creative solutions for a wide-range of projects and campaigns. Our campaigns are focused on making positive impacts in communities—so we need an individual who is interested in really digging in to understand and develop communications around complex challenges in education, health care, transportation, environment, and early childhood—and designing for a range of audiences across the full spectrum of communication channels.

Key Responsibilities

  • Use research and our methodology to deeply understand projects, clients, and the challenge to be solved. Use collaboration and creativity to develop unique, compelling, and positive creative for campaigns.
  • Execute high-quality creative work across diverse channels, including deliverables developed for print, digital, social, audio, video, events.
  • In alignment with client strategic initiatives, develop and present creative assets to clients.
  • Develop concepts that convey strategic messages and maintain a unified look across print and digital.
  • Identify and art direct talent and resources to develop images, videos, radio ads, outdoor and print ads, websites, and print collateral. Ability to manage photo and video shoots, audio production and ability to oversee brand and campaign assets such as fonts, palettes, imagery.
  • Incorporate changes recommended by the other departments into designs.
  • Work with team members to make sure all projects meet client objectives and budgetary guidelines.
  • Keep team members briefed on creative projects in a timely manner.
  • Ability to analyze, interpret, and cross-check information to ensure all materials are complete, accurate, and fulfill the specified purpose and scope.
  • Demonstrate good problem-solving and interpersonal skills.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally internally and externally; foster a positive team atmosphere.
  • Jump in to support the team and be a valuable creative contributor.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, Illustration, or related art field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience creating digital assets for web, display, mobile, print, video, and more.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, especially Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat, and InDesign.
  • Video and Audio Capabilities a plus.

This role will be critical in supporting our team's ability to produce high level deliverables with efficiency and agility. We are looking for an organized team player who is detail and process oriented—that unique individual who takes ownership; who can proactively meet with team members, get inputs, and move projects forward according to plan. This role will work closely with the Creative Director and Account Directors to identify new projects and campaigns, create timelines, oversee the progress of a large list of varied deliverables—and create reports to keep the team and clients informed. Additionally, work to continually improve operational processes to accelerate production while maintaining quality and creativity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify new project requests by meeting with account teams and attending client calls
  • Work with account teams to clarify projects; ensure all specs and input are documented, feedback is clear and can be executed
  • Develop and manage detailed project timelines; follow up to meet deadlines
  • Develop project and asset lists and tracking using Google sheets, Excel, etc
  • Learn our methodology and our asset types to support integration into all work
  • Assign and track projects; understand changes to deliverables, timelines, hours, etc.
  • Provide weekly overviews to identify impending due dates and new project requests
  • Help identify areas where process is needed, and work to define and implement
  • Maintain agency wide lists of all deliverables by client; focus on accounts where intake, approvals, and progress tracking are needed
  • Pivot when needed to help push through crisis communications and rush campaigns

Skills & Knowledge

  • Excellent communication and project management skills.
  • Ability to manage the workflow of large campaigns with a variety of deliverables
  • Exercise judgment and project management skill to balance priorities and communicate to teams to meet and exceed project deadlines and commitments.
  • Self-starter with a strong work ethic and ability to manage time and take initiative.
  • Digitally savvy; able to work remotely and connect through daily meetings in Google hangout; Excel or Sheets expert; process savvy and extremely organized
  • Speed and agility; Ability to work efficiently and effectively under pressure, building timelines, managing projects, supporting teams—willingness to work occasional weekend hours.

Qualifications

  • Degree in a field related to advertising, marketing, operations, or management
  • 8+ years experience, preferably in a mid size ad agency, mailhouse, or similar
  • Experience with project management software, Google Docs, Sheets, Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of campaign timelines and creative or digital process a must
